"Thanks" just doesn't seem adequate enough. Opening your beautiful B&B to vets for an overnight is an amazing way of paying tribute to this day.
We slept better than we've done in months in the fresh Coastal air ... and the breakfast was was exquisite!

What a beautiful B&B! We especially enjoyed the privacy of the Bunkhouse. The breakfasts were amazing. Each morning, we woke up wondering what kind of gourmet meal would be awaiting us. Good thing the beach is right across the street so we could walk it off!! And the view from the tower -- who wouldn't want to have a cozy breakfast while looking out over the Pacific?

And being able to borrow the kayak to paddle up Beaver Creek made this a very unique retreat. Even on a Saturday, the journey along the creek was so peaceful.

Thanks again for your gracious hospitality. We enjoyed every minute.

We had a delightful, mostly relaxing weekend. Loved the privacy of the Bunkhouse and the lovely hot tub. (Great for skinny-dipping, but don't tell the neighbors.) It was our anniversary weekend, and we hit several excellent restaurants, a nice dance performance, and a live concert - very busy indeed!

Richard drew a Chartres labyrinth on the beach and I chimed in with a Classical. We managed to take advantage of the sunniest day.

This turned out to be just the perfect spot for us; our only lament is that our stay couldn't be longer. We enjoyed the thunderous rain on the rooftop and watching the surf violently surge northward, all from the perfectly peaceful Ona Beach B&B.

Both breakfasts were delicious and one quiche the best I've ever had. Enjoyed the gracious hosts who missed not a single detail in their hospitality, the wonderfully comfortable bed, and the hot tub to set the tone of a relaxing weekend. [wonderful couple - they were a pleasure to have with us for Valentine's weekend]

Our first wedding anniversary was so special in your lovely home! I must confess that my wife booked the reservation and I hadn't even seen the description or pictures on the web site. What an awesome surprise! We loved the beautiful home and your lovely decorations and attention to detail. We dined like royalty at breakfast and at the great nearby restaurants you suggested. Despite the long, invigorating walks along the beach, I think we gained a couple pounds. Oh well. It's our anniversary! I was headed to South Beach, Oregon for my youngest brothers wedding but like usual I didn't plan ahead far enough to get a motel room so my brother told me that he and his wife had booked a room at the Ona Beach Bed And Breakfast and that I should give them a call right away and see if the had another room to let so I did at 8 PM on a Friday night the night before I needed the room. I reached an answering machine and thought I would never have a chance of getting a room at this late date but Don called back immediately and directed me to their website where I was able to make an immediate reservation for the same bunkhouse as my brother. When we got there and met Don And Cynthia who are the most polite and courteous innkeepers you could ever meet. They showed us to our rooms and social areas the decor was incredible to start with and it just got better from there incredibly soft beds everything was well maintained and very clean with clean fresh smells and a breakfast that was just a work of art from the muffins to the Spinach Quiche. I would like to thank Cynthia and Don for an absolute wonderful stay and will be returning to them the next time I am in the area. Thank You

Orcas!

Yesterday the Orcas that we spotted off our coast the other day took a river cruise! They crossed the bar at Newport and cruised on in, under the Yaquina Bay bridge and up the river several miles! Then they returned to the bay, hung around for several hours putting on a show for everybody who was lucky enough to be there, and finally cruised back out to sea!

We love it! Maybe they'll take up residence! Then we can say that NOAA brought their Orcas with them when they moved to Newport!

Patty Anne and Drew found us! Once again! They were dearly loved repeat customers from the days of Druid House B&B in the Sierra foothills! They were driving by and saw our sign, checked it out on the internet and, when they saw "Cynthia and Don" thought, "Is that the "Cynthia and Don"? So they stopped by to see. Sure enough. Our best ever regulars found us all over again on the Oregon Coast!

So, in their honor and with deep gratitude, we dug out all their previous comments in our old guest books and have posted them below! Enjoy:

I was so stressed when I arrived (work has been unbearable) but thanks to the sweet serenity of your lovely B&B, the hot tub, and my incredibly understanding, loving, and wonderful husband, my neck, shoulders and heart no longer ache. We had a wonderful time sharing our 5th anniversary with you! Your home is amazing and we were truly able to relax and feel right at home. Don - thank you for making reservations for us at Saffron Salmon. They knew who we were right when we walked in and the entire staff congratulated us on our anniversary before we even sat down! We both felt so special and it made our day even more memorable! We're moving out of State in 3 weeks and this was our last chance to get away and have some quiet time together for what's going to be a very long time.
